How to choose
The rules barely change from one match 3 game to the next, so choose by theme and pace. Most are relaxed and work through levels on a map. A few add a twist, such as fighting a monster with your matches, or decorating a home between levels.
They suit short sessions, and about half are made for a phone held upright. The game page says which way to hold your phone. Plan your move before you swap: on most boards, a match near the bottom shifts more tiles and sets up more combos.

What makes a game a match 3?
You line up three or more of the same piece to clear them from the board. Some games here ask you to tap groups of pieces rather than swap them, but the idea is the same.
Do I lose my level progress?
Many games save progress in your browser, so you can come back on the same device. Clearing your browser data can remove it.
